Hankkija is Finland's leading agricultural retailer, offering comprehensive products, services and expert support to farms. Its business areas are agricultural, machinery and retail trade, and the group also includes the logistics company Movere. The company is known as a reliable partner that combines its long experience with modern agricultural technology and sustainable production solutions. The company is part of the Danish Danish Agro group.

Agricultural trade is currently affected by many external forces, such as geopolitical uncertainty, fluctuating raw material prices, the effects of climate change, structural changes in farms and rapid technological developments. As the strategy period approaches its end, Hankkija wanted to get a comprehensive picture of the direction of these phenomena and understand what their impacts mean in practice for their business.

The goal of the collaboration was to produce substantiated future information and recommendations to support decision-making, which would help Hankkija make decisions in a timely manner, ensure the strategy is up-to-date, and, if necessary, direct actions in a forward-oriented manner.

A customized future review of the operating environment offered a solution to this. With the help of the future review, they can ensure that the direction is right and that decision-making is based on understanding, not assumptions. The review confirmed that the company is on a good path in many respects, but also highlighted developments that it is wise to prepare for. Also valuable was the view of new opportunities that the development of the operating environment brings.

The work created a strong foundation for planning the next strategic period and increased Hankkija's confidence that they will make the right decisions at the right time.
