Copart Finland Membership and Marketing Director Eemeli Kumpulainen and CEO Jan Johansson set out in the summer of 2024 to look for a partner strategy work Based on the responses to the call for tender, a few operators were selected for further consideration, of which More Than Training Company was ultimately chosen as a partner. “Right from the start, Jan and I both had a very positive feeling about More Than Training Company and Joshua. I take my hat off to the fact that, for example, about three minutes after sending the request for quotation, Joshua already called me – that feeling went a long way. Of course, others had strong references, but you genuinely listened to the need and were very on the pulse from the beginning,” says Eemeli. “I can easily relate to Eemeli. It immediately felt like something special was about to happen.”, Jan adds.
A few goals were defined for the collaboration from the beginning, the purpose of which was to guide the work throughout the collaboration.
Efficiency
The work had to move forward quickly. The ambitious goal was to have the strategy ready by the end of the year.
Clarity
The strategy document itself had to be simple, understandable and internalized. Every staff representative had to understand the impact of their work on the strategy and vice versa – that is, the connection to the strategy had to be clear.
Ambition
The strategy did not aim to settle for the status quo, but to respond to the market's demands and stay ahead of the curve even when a lot is happening in the market.
The goals of the collaboration were also met excellently. “It was great that from the very beginning, the More Than Training Company people communicated that the schedule was completely feasible and that the work would be ready, even by Independence Day if necessary – which was also achieved! You also didn’t leave us alone in terms of what would happen next, but offered support and recommendations, for example for visualizing the strategy,” said Eemeli.
Eemeli also described the strategy as exactly what was expected of it.”Personally, I see the strategy created as being genuinely ambitious, which is important"We must be brave and move towards growth, as outlined in this strategy."
The coaching sessions were seen as rewarding experiences, above all else.
From the very first meetings, there was a deep trust between Copart Finland and More Than Training Company.
"Right from the first overnight coaching session, I got the feeling that even if my own team got bogged down in strategic considerations at some point, Jaakko and Joshua would be able to support and guide the work in the right direction. We also wanted to involve people outside the management team in the work, and I think we succeeded in that together,” says Eemeli. “That’s right, the sparring was very professional and exactly like us,” Jan adds.
Eemeli also mentioned that the cooperation with More Than Training Company in general was felt to be natural and easy. “After every steering group meeting, Kalle always sent a list of “homework” that would help things move forward. So it was easy to trust that everything would be done on time. And most importantly, for example, after the last steering group and coaching, I felt that there is a high risk of success here!”
During the collaboration, a concrete one-page strategy and a clarified product and service portfolio were created for Copart Finland to support the growth strategy and customer needs.
In addition, Eemeli said that during the collaboration, his trust in Copart Finland as a company and in the people at Copart also grew stronger. “We have really competent people and professional skills for the job. With this team of ours and the ownership background, anything is possible.", as long as we just dare to be ambitious!"

Our own team has fun working, so it was not wrong at all that the moments we spent together with Jaakko and Joshua were also fun!”, says Eemeli.
